They were directing traffic and trying to tell us the road was blocked. Instead of doing it in a way we could understand from the car they just kept waving their flashlights as if they were telling us to proceed forward. We realized after that they were trying to tell us to stop. We stopped and they screamed at us like we were criminals and were peeking in our car with flashlights. We tried to explain that we misunderstood their traffic directing and they just got more aggressive in their tones. I don't feel safe or protected with this department.

  • The men and women of the Wyoming Police Department have gone ABOVE and BEYOND for me and my family. Because of the kindness, compassion, and love that these brave men and women have showed us, I have a whole new view on not only law enforcement officers, but on life. I again have found my love for a career in law enforcement. Because of them I realize the sky is the limit. Whether they know it or not, they saved my life. I was heading down a dark and dangerous path, and they became my guiding light. Not only has the Wyoming Police Department restored my faith in the police and humanity, but they also restored my faith in myself. And i can say by first hand experience that this department strives for good relations with the public. If you have concerns about how things are being done, instead of bashing police officers, who have to deal with a lot of criticism on a daily basis, why not become a part of the solution? The Wyoming Police Department welcomes, actually encourages the community to get involved through community advisory meetings at the department. After participating in the Student Advisory Council they have, I realized that first, there is a long way to go before the community as a whole feels comfortable with police. Which is totally understandable. But i also realized that the men and women of the Wyoming Police Department want to be the ones you call for help. They want to be the ones you call if you're hurt, lost, or scared. They want to be there for you, even when you don't care about yourself. They want transparency. They don't want people to be afraid to call them when they need to. All they ask is that you follow the laws and get involved in helping the community. Comfort is not something given, comfort is built. And that means that the police and community have to work hand in hand to achieve safety and comfort. People sometimes fail to realize that police officers are only human. They cant make everyone happy every day, although many try. Being a police officer is not only physically draining, but also emotionally. I suggest that the next time you come across an officer that seems to be in a bad mood, just think. The previous call they may have been bit, punched, kicked, called all the names in the book, spit at, or possibly even faced death. But after all that, they still get up, leave the house, their family, their comfort, and their safety, in hopes that they save a life, or just make someone smile. They risk their lives so that you can take comfort in yours. I would love the chance to one day call the brave men and women of Wyoming PD my partners. They have my back, I just want them to know I have theirs. I would, without hesitation, lay my life down for any of these officers. And that's because i know they would do the same for me. I see them as the caring mothers, fathers, sisters, and brothers that they are. And i hope one day the community as a whole, will view them the same way. To Chief Carmody, SGT Look, Officer Stevens, and ALL other brave men and women of the Wyoming Police Department- YOU ARE MY HEROES

Corruption and GREED. It's all I have to say. Yes , I was speeding on the I-80, and admit that I indeed was driving 14 over the speed limit. The trooper issued me an absurdly large $235 ticket. (The generous trooper took a whooping $10 off the ticket because I was wearing my seat belt. Jeez, thanks so much for that break sir!) The trooper had to break the law several times to pull me over. First, he cut across 3 inbound lanes, then a VERY large grass median (at least 100-200 feet wide), cut across 2 more outbound lanes and do well over 120+ MPH, in order to pull me over and give, me, an "out of state'r" a ticket that he knows will not be contested in court because it would cost $500 in plane tickets alone just to get to court. ( If I was a Wyoming resident I can almost guarantee I would have been given a warning or a lesser ticket price; bullying at its finest, by Wyoming's finest) Wyoming is a broke, desperate, and desolate joke of a state and I will never travel though, nor spend my money in Wyoming again. How is it that our federal court systems allow a state to charge so much for such a petty offence? I do not understand how Wyoming is able to get away with this kind of greed. P.S. Due to both my infraction of the law and the absurd ticket price I am now on the verge of homelessness and unable to make my rent for the next 3 months. I just want to thank Wyoming and especially the trooper that pulled me over for making my life a living hell.
